Whether cutting a feature documentary, a 30 minute narrative short story or a 30 second commercial spot, my approach to editing is always story first. Who is the audience, and what are we trying to tell them? Why does this story need to be told?  How can the aesthetic, sound and pace of this piece assist that story?

If story is first, technical competency is a tie breaker. I have many years of experience cutting a wide variety of projects from documentary to editorial. My formal BFA in Photography and Film heightened my awareness of the many elements that go into a production. Communication with other aspects of a film team is crucial, and I have experience working with diverse teams in professional production and post houses.
